Sabrina's Dream
The History of Women in Motion

Women in Motion of Bedford, Virginia was founded in May 2002 by Sabrina Bugay-Willis.  She wanted to encourage other women to become involved in the sport that she enjoyed.  Second, she wanted to train with other women.  She believed that other women could tap into their potential by discovering strength through running.  She recruited others who ran, used to run, or never had run.  She taught that running was an individual sport and that success was measured by your own progress towards your own goals. Winning is accomplished by having the courage to start and the perseverance to continue.

Many of the Women in Motion are former couch potatoes.  Fitness has changed our lives!  Many of us are mothers and/or hold full-time jobs, yet we find time to make fitness a priority in our lives.  You do not have to be a runner to join Bedford Women in Motion.  Sabrina did not look at anyone any differently.  Runners... walkers... as long as you are moving, you are a Woman in Motion!  Some of us have gone on to attain levels of fitness we never even dreamed about when we began.  Visit our Member Bios to see how our lives have been changed.

Some of us were fortunate enough to know Sabrina Willis personally.  Others who have joined us since then are inspired by her story and her spirit.  The Women in Motion of Bedford have made it our mission to keep Sabrina's Dream alive by helping others achieve physical fitness... the lifestyle whe wanted to introduce to others.  Would you like to join Bedford's Women in Motion for a run or walk?  See our Meeting Schedule or contact Jeannie, the web master.  We would love to meet you and will help you come up with a training plan if you are a beginner.
