The Ladies of Sabrina's Dream 2005, L to R
Nina, Peggy, Anita, Abigail, Denise, Linnea, Sarah, Lucia, Karen, Martha, Kim, Jeannie

Bretton Woods Ski Resort was the starting place for our Reach the Beach Adventure.

Martha, Denise and Sarah take in the beautiful scenery at Bretton Woods.  Secretly, they are each thinking, "I'm really, REALLY glad I'm not running leg 1..."  (see below...)

Ultra-Runners Lucia and Anita survey the challenging 5K course Anita will tackle for leg #1.

"That's a lot of black diamonds!" Anita said.

Nina knows she better stretch out those calves and Achilles!

Peggy, Linnea, Sarah, Denise, Karen and Nina hang out at the lodge waiting for the start.

The final countdown!!  Notice not many women run leg one.

The ladies wait to cheer Anita on.

Our Anita is one tuff cookie.
She even passed people on the way down the slope.

Anita handed off to Nina, who had a very challenging uphill leg, but brought us in under our estimated time!

Jeannie coming in from leg 3, which ended with a 2.8-mile steep downhill... smiling for the camera.

Jeannie didn't realize the camera was still focused on her.
"Ouch, my quads."

Sarah took over for leg 4, which again, was up and down the mountains.  Would we ever really reach the beach???

Denise looked like she enjoyed running leg 5!
Again, mountains!

Peggy was our fastest runner, averaging 7:30's for leg 6.

Ever the happy, agreeable camper, Anita helps out a RTB volunteer by assuming traffic control duties for a while.

Lucia comes in strong , ready to hand off!

Martha's looking a bit better than team 077 there!
She passed several people on her legs.

Abigail is really booking uphill in leg 10!!

Karen was our first runner to use the vest/flashlight/blinky combo.
She probably also would have liked a map.  ;)

The Candia Fire Station serves up breakfast sandwiches and really motivates the runners.  Nina (in blue, to the right of the fire chaplain wearing suspenders) just finished her final leg.

Peggy catches a quick nap at an elementary school.

Linnea hauls it in to the finish line.

Everyone looks good after 200 miles!!

All smiles... we Reached the Beach.

Stay tuned for Reach the Beach 2006...
